Image annotation allows users to draw on an image file to mark up a section and bring attention directly to what is being referenced. Image annotation is configured through the File upload question. Steps to enable:
  1. Add a file upload question to your step.
  2. Enable Show image preview. A new option to enable annotation appears. File upload question image preview and annotation options
  3. Enable Annotate image.
  4. Choose the Default annotation color.
You may wish to restrict file extensions to only allow image files you support/expect.

Annotating images

When annotating images, it’s important to understand how the files are saved. When you upload an image and start drawing on it, the original image file and the drawing are saved separately, temporarily. You can save the form and reopen it, and still have the option to continue annotating or remove all annotations and keep the original image file. Once the step is submitted, the two files are merged, meaning the original image file is overwritten and there is no way to undo the annotation.
