You can install the Doc Gen plugin on both the Microsoft Word desktop client and Word Online through the app store.

Desktop client

  1. Open Microsoft Word.
  2. Navigate to the “Insert” tab in the ribbon, and click “Get Add-ins”. Get Add-ins in the Insert ribbon
  3. In the Office Add-ins store, search for “FlowForma Doc Gen”. Search results for FlowForma Doc Gen
  4. Click the Add button.
  5. Review the “License terms and Privacy policy” information, and click continue. License terms and Privacy policy dialog

Word Online

To install the plugin on Word Online:
  1. Open a Word Online document.
  2. On the “Home” tab in the ribbon, click “Add-ins”, then “More Add-ins”. Add-ins and More Add-ins on the Home ribbon
  3. In the Office Add-ins store, search for “FlowForma Doc Gen”.
  4. Click the Add button.
  5. Review the “License terms and Privacy policy” information, and click continue.
Note: at this point, the plugin has been installed, but the Word document is likely not a “FlowForma Document Template” associated with a flow. Attempting to open or use the plugin now will result in an error message stating the document is not valid. We recommend closing Word once the plugin is installed, then creating a document template using the Generate Document rule so it is associated with a flow.
Please be aware that document templates created using the original plugin are not compatible with the new plugin and you will need to use the original plugin to make any changes, or recreate the template with the new plugin.

Permissions

The FlowForma Doc Gen plugin requires permissions to your SharePoint environment in order to operate correctly. We recommend that a global admin within your organisation consents to these permissions before general use.
