Charts may already contain a filter that was added when the chart was created. If you see an icon like this at the top-left of a chart cell on the Dashboard: Filter icon on a chart cell it means that the data in the chart is filtered. This filter might have been added to the chart itself, or it might be the result of a Category Object being selected. You can view how the chart has been filtered by clicking the icon at the top-left of the chart cell.
